The headstone of Ann Barns / Barnes (nee Dawes), abt. 1790 - 1844,
in Paul Parish Churchyard, Cornwall
The inscriptions reads....
SACRED
TO THE MEMORY OF
ANN
THE WIFE OF
JOHN BARNES,
OF NEWLYN IN THIS PARISH.
SHE DIED JULY 14TH 1844,
AGED 54 YEARS.
Long affliction I bore, by the help of my God,
And kindly received the stripes of his rod,
Though painful awhile yet this was his love,
To ease me of pain and take me above.
