John Dando, the younger, (born in Dursley in about 1743) moved to Rodborough and lived there for about 30 years until his first wife, Ann, passed away. John became a trustee of the Tabernacle after Reverend Thomas Adams died "with a strict injunction to be watchful against introduction of unscriptural doctrines". Ann and six of their children are buried in the grounds and John's name appears on the grave plaque, although he was actually buried with his second wife in Bristol.
