The Hibbitts and Newbolds were residing in Exton,
Rutland in the
late 18th/early 19th centuries. My line subsequently moved to various parts of Gloucestershire and later generations
lived in Worcester, Birmingham, Ireland and Devon. The
Pitcher family came from Lydney in Gloucestershire, then Rockhampton and
next Uley/Coaley,
and later, Arlingham, all in Gloucestershire. The Worgan family were
located in Woolaston and Alvington in the Forest of Dean and the Fryers, Taysoms and
Kings were in Arlingham as well as Fretherne and Westbury on Severn,
also in Gloucestershire. There were several Fryer families in Arlingham
and my line were specifically from the area known as Overton. The
Cotterill family originally hailed from Kidderminster, Worcestershire,
before moving to Kingswinford near Dudley.

In the 18th century, the Dandos were in Dursley and
Rodborough, in Gloucestershire. Many of them were
hat makers/manufacturers and they had strong connections with Calvinistic
Methodism and were acquainted with the famous Methodist preacher, George Whitefield. Later generations
moved to Bristol but
they also resided in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, and some in New
York. They also had connections with Australia, New Zealand, Manchester,
London, Middlesex and Devon. The Oliver family came from Yorkshire. The
Frees, Finchams and Ashbys originated from Hadstock in Essex, very close to the
market town of Saffron Walden.
