Portland Square, Bristol
Charles Tidmarsh Dando lived at Portland Square,
together with his first wife, Clarissa (nee Spiers). They were there
from at least 1841 and possibly from the time they were married in 1837.
They first lived at number 13. By the time of the 1861 census the couple lived at number 26
with their two children, Charles Joseph Dando and Clarissa Emmeline
Dando (who later became Clarissa E Houston).
Also, Charlers' father, Joseph Dando the
elder (born abt. 1781), with a number of Charles' siblings, were at
number 26 Portland Square, in 1841. Presumably Charles and Clarissa
moved in after Joseph moved to Ashley Down.
