My name is Annie Barnes (nee Hibbitt) and this blog is connected to my Hibbitt & Barnes Family History website, available at http://www.hibbitt.org.uk. The main site contains details of mine and my husband, Harvey's, family trees (click here and choose a tree if you wish to view all the names in our families) as well as photo galleries, biographies, a guestbook and other resources. The blog is a way of keeping you informed of my latest research, any changes to the main site and offers some useful family history links and other genealogical information.

Once you've verified your subscription, you'll then receive email notifications of my blog posts within 24 hours from when I add them. If you're related to us, please bear in mind that not all information will be relevant to your specific branch of our families but you won't miss out on anything new and furthermore, I'll be posting plenty of other material too.

Here are some tips to help you navigate my blog...

• Index Page - you can return at any time to the main index page showing my latest posts by either clicking on the 'Hibbitt & Barnes Family History Blog' title or the 'Index Page' link above.
• Permanent Links - clicking on the title of any post in the index will take you to a dedicated page for that particular post. Watch out for any 'Read more' links. If this appears on the index page then, as you'd expect, there's more to see in the post by clicking through to the permanent page.
• All Blog Posts - this link gives you an opportunity to browse all of my posts to date.
• Blog Search - searches my blog for your keyword(s). Note, this only searches the blog - likewise, the search facility on the main site does not include the blog and the galleries have their own search facility too.
• Categories - as the name suggests, this is where you'll find posts grouped together within their given category.
• Recent Archives - a quick menu to posts made in recent months.
