Dando

  • Dursley Tabernacle - The web site of the United Reformed Church at Dursley. Look out for mention of John Dando (the elder, b. abt. 1716) on their history page.

Ashby / Free /  Dando

  • SaffronShops.com - A brief history of Saffron Walden where Mary Ann Free (nee Ashby) ran a confectioner's shop in 1901 and where her daughter, Alice Free married Charles Llewellyn Ernest Elbert Dando.

Rowlandson

  • Linton Union Workhouse - It is believed Eliza Ashby (nee Richardson) ended her days in the Linton Workhouse. The link near the bottom of the page for Inmates on the 1881 Census lists a 76 year old Eliza.

Pitcher

  • Scribe's Alcove - This site contains details of various records in six Gloucestershire parishes. Take the Search link and choose Parish Registers. Then search on the Rockhampton parish for information on Benjamin Pitcher and Margaret Worgan, who married in 1773, as well as baptisms and burials of their children.

  • General Register Office - Use the information obtained from the indexes at the above link to order birth, marriage and death certificates from the GRO.

  • The National Archives - UK government's official archive located at Kew containing 900 years of history.

  • Documents Online - Allows access to The National Archives' collection of public records which have been digitized. Searching is free, downloading an image costs £3.50.
