IMPORTANT NOTE: DNA has revealed a break in the HIBBITT line. Charles Newbold HIBBITT might have been 'adopted' by Amos HIBBITT and Mahala NEWBOLD. It's uncertain whether it was Charles who was the product of unknown parentage or whether it was his son, Alfred Charles Newbold HIBBITT, who was not actually Charles' son. It seems fairly certain that Amos and Mahala were not blood relatives due to the lack of any DNA matches.
