    SMETHICK.
    BURGLARY. - At the Public Office on Saturday last, a mechanic named Henry F. Ridley, a striker at Messrs. Hartland and Batson's Anchor Works, was brought up on a charge of breaking into the dwelling house of a labourer, named Walker, and stealing a quantity of wearing apparel and other articles. Police-constable Harrison and Walker with other witnesses detailed the facts, which clearly established the guilt of the prisoner, and he was committed to the next Stafford Sessions for trial.
