Dursley Tabernacle

The Tabernacle and Parsonage Street, Dursley
c. 1810 - Artist unknown
John Dando, the elder, (born abt. 1715) was one of the founding members of the original Tabernacle in Dursley. The existing tabernacle (seen here) was erected in 1808 and is still standing today.
In 1792 the members of the old tabernacle leased land for a burial ground. The land was leased from Robert Harris, Gentleman, for 1000 years. John's youngest son, Stephen (1760-1834), was amongst those who signed the agreement on behalf of the Tabernacle Society.
